The dealer invoice is a preliminary bill of sale generated at the selling dealership at the time of sale. the dealer invoice show the original buyer, his address, the serial number of the car, date of sale, type of vehicle, options the car was delivered with, key numbers, and additional accessories that were added or installed after the car was delivered to the dealership.

The dealer invoice would normally show the taxed paid, registration charges, used car trade-in’s at the time of purchase, financing bank (i.e. bank, credit union, GMAC finance, etc), freight cost and final price. These dealership documents that were supplied at the sale date tend to be kept by the original buyers and show up frequently.
