The window sticker was typed up at the Chevrolet factory and would be glued to the inside drivers door glass. This window sticker showed the type, color, base price, all the RPO options the car was originally equipped with and their respective retail prices, the serial number of the car, the name of the plant it was made at, shipping & destination cost, dealership name and address along with the zone and code of that specific dealership. It would also have certain tracking numbers that would correspond to the other Chevrolet documents.
Many collectors like to have these window stickers for display in picture frames or in protected restoration binders and to help validate the authenticity of their muscle car. Window stickers are part of many papers general motors issued for each car and are sought after they proof of the pedigree and history of these muscle cars. Sadly a lot of the original window stickers were discarded soon after the purchase sale completed.
The shipper copy is a carbon copy subversion of the window sticker and was sent along with the transport truck and was meant for dealership and confirmation records. It shows the options, price, color, and so on. The shipper copy is identical to the window sticker but lacks any of the printed disclaimers, colored borders, logos, etc. It only has the typed information of its brother the window sticker, a different kind of Chevrolet document that is equally important as the window sticker but not yet as commonly seen.
