Retail Order Form

The retail order form is a document generated at the dealership when a customer wanted a custom Chevrolet vehicle ordered from the factory. A customer would go into a dealership and sit down with the salesman. It’s a hand written standard GM form. The customer would get a yellow copy and he would start to write a retail order form it would have the customers name and address type of car he wanted to order, color, style, and go through the list of options he wanted the salesman would take a deposit, confirm customer could acquire financing, and write down any discounts agreed upon.

If the customer was trading any vehicle in this was binding contract to order a new car from the factory. When these documents were done it would take between 4-6 weeks for a car to be finally made and delivered to dealership. These documents show up frequently being original owner would tend to keep this document along with important papers.
