Pre Delivery Sheet
The pre delivery sheet was a document generated at the dealership. The form was supplied to the PDI mechanic when the new vehicle was delivered to the dealership usually by transport (i.e truck-a-way trucking).
The mechanic would take the new car and go threw ta series of predetermined checks outline on the form. Like check belts, hoses, alignment, lube hinges, check timing and dwell etc… he would then fill out the pre delivery sheet and sign it as well as the selling salesman’s signature, the protect-o-plate was usually stamped on top of PDI sheet the mechanic would then leave a copy in the glove box for the eventual owner to get, these papers often show being left in the glove box folder many years later.
