1960′s gasoline gas card or credit card were issued to customers so they could buy gasoline from different manufacturers on credit, these included many companies such as Texaco, Sunoco Phillips 66, Citco, Shell and many, many others.
The cards had individual account numbers as well as name of card holder, sometimes would show address as well. These cards were earlier versions of today’s credit cards, but back then they lacked any magnetic security strip.
Many old expired gas cards have been found in glove boxes or under seats of muscle cars when dismantled for restoration which gave a clue to the original owner who drove and owned the car originally
